Proper care:
• Clean olive wood products, e.g. with a soft sponge, warm water and a little washing-up liquid (never leave them in hot water), then dry them immediately with a kitchen towel. • It is best to rub the olive wood lightly with a few drops of olive oil (or cooking oil) immediately after purchase and then from time to time after cleaning, so that the olive wood does not dry out and retains its beautiful grain. Exception: painted back scratchers. • Never wash olive wood products in the dishwasher, leave them in the rinsing water or expose them to heat permanently. The olive wood could crack and become very unsightly.
